Hindus regard death spiritually as significant as birth and life. For most Hindus a proper Vedic Hindu funeral helps the family to an extent in bringing about a closure. Hindus need a cremation facility that meets their religious beliefs and needs. There is no crematorium for the Hindu community in the Greater Toronto Area. Moksh will build the first charitable Hindu crematorium in the GTA. When a death occurs, the family burdened with funeral arrangements and financial costs. Many a time the family is so shocked and is at such a loss that it does not even know what the next steps are. That’s when Moksh steps in to serve. When fully operational Moksh will take care of everything, end to end Relieved of having to make funeral arrangements the family will be simply be able to grieve.
OBJECTIVES OF MOKSH
Article 3 Objectives from Moksh’ by-law reads as follows :
Moksh shall be a not-for-profit charitable corporation:
To advance religion by preaching the teachings, and religious tenets,doctrines and observances associated with the Hindu faith;
To advance religion by establishing and operating a crematorium to carryout services in accordance with the Hindu faith;
To provide a public amenity by establishing and operating a not-for-profit crematorium for the benefit of the public;
To benefit the community by offering grief services and counselling to individuals and families after death; and
To carry out activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the aforementioned charitable purposes.
Will employ in-house Hindu priests to conduct Hindu Vedic funeral procedures.
Will have fully equipped building and amenities such as havan-kund, bathroom, kitchen to carry out Vedic rituals.

Initiation and Planning
Identified the need and major deliverables of the project and brainstormed the ways to meet the need.
Break down the larger project into smaller tasks & prepare a schedule for the completion of assignments.

Publicity and Fundraising
Increase the community awareness for the need and offering of charitable hindu crematorium.
Website, social media, flyers, Fundraising activities are some of the ways adopted for publicity.
PHASE 3
At Cost Services
Providing priest services, toll free number service, at cost basket for the cremation service to the families in need.
Guiding families, understanding their need & answering their related questions.
PHASE 4
Fully Operational Crematorium
Fully operational crematorium, amenities to perform religious ceremonies in the days following death.
Helping the families through the complete ritual and guiding them through it.
